yes, i am on vacation to Boston. to get away from work, to get away from the stress in life. To enjoy LIFE. its been a while since i am on a long break away from home. Ever since my exchange days are over, i have been waiting to embark on another trip overseas and stay for a week or more at the place. Thankfully, my teacher( my JI gp sinseh)-Ruby is studying in Boston College, and has a spare bed to offer, and here i am, bunking in with her in this lovely city. Boston is a cultural rich city, it is at this place, where the freedom revolution starts, where they break free from the British colonisation. Thus the buildings, houses here have a strong England design. It makes you feels like you are in london. Another name of Boston is The New England, the reason? as whats explained above. will just stay in boston and going over to new york over the weekend =)
First of all, must say thanks to TERENCE !!! for sharing such a wonderful lobang! :) hee, yup, he was the one that told me about the Earth Day prog by Banyan Tree.. and its for a mere $20!!! , at the end of the trip, i still cant believe that its only 20, no hidden costs at all!
A well spent 20 bucks i should say. K, wouldnt want to sound like a cheapo, hee, let me share with you what kind of surprises that we had for the trip :) I went with my bf, and my bro(mark) n his gf(junwen)
Surprise 1::: Fine print says: " ticket counters will close 30 mins before the departure time, you have to collect the boarding passes at 7.05am." we were late, cos have to pick up bro's gf and all the waiting time here n there, we only hit the ferry terminal at 7.30pm. I panic, not sure if we can make it to collect the tickets. rush rush all the way into the hall, saw alot of pple queing, and looking ard for my counter, it was open!!! wahooo hoo... phew.... managed to get hold of the boarding passes , then the line of crowd. When we reached the boat, looked at my watch, its 8.00am!! wah... phew.. we made it. Nxt time if u are late, dun bother too much, just rush all the way , the ferry will wait for u!! :P
Surprise 2:: The immigration counters at bintan do not have pens!!! one officer refuse to give me a pen, saying that he has none,he ordered me to fill up an non-filled accomodation column which he doesnt know what i should fill in,as i wasnt here to stay overnight. anyway.. some kind soul lent it to us... :P
Surprise 3:: Its an exclusive trip..!! there were 16 pple for the trip, and 8 for the tree trek and 8 for coral safari!! met htay yu n yin n the parents! :) they were going for the tree trek. We boarded a spacious coach and alighted at Banyan Tree Resort.. I fell in love with the place immediately!!! so so so nice.. and rustic.. aw..... looking at my pics later! :D we were greeted by ultra friendly staffs who served us warm and nice smelling towels for us.. at that point in time, we still couldnt believe it that we only pay for 20 bucks for such wonderful treatment.....
Surprise 4::: We were being briefed by the guide for the coral safari event, and brought to the Angsana Suite for change into our swimming attire.. the room was awfully awfully nice.....:P wah.. and i found out later the price for a night stay there is very very very *nice* too.. it costs USD 435 !!!!! waoh.... After changing, we collected our equipment! and off we went to the speed boat, just nice that its 4 to a boat, thus the 4 of us were happily seated on the boat, and enjoying the breeze and wonderful weather!!! and we felt like we owned the boat, so exclusively us seated on it.. :P yes, and my bf has been *moved* by the marketing of the whole prog, he kept saying he wanted to come back and stay with Banyan tree... haa haa... Terence: got special rates??
Surprise 5:: I have never snorkel b4, and i seriously din thot abt it until the boat slowed down and said that we have reached the coral spot, its ard 10 mins away from the shore line. putting on the fins and mask, i felt frightened. ever since the "stonefish" incident, i have never stepped inside the sea again, much less talk abt swiming in the sea.. gosh.. i managed to pull myself into the water.. and was surprised by the sight that i seen! its very nicee!! i saw corals!! and small sch of fishes swimming by!! but after a while, i realised that i couldnt breathe.. i wasnt breathing through the mouth piece. i was holding my breath when i got into the water.. gosh.. wat an amateur i am.. hee.. experts out there, dun laugh at me! :P
i was scared, i couldnt swim in the sea, really. cos its borderless... i have nothing to hold on in case of anything. i was damm scared.. k, i know i can swim, but thats only in pools... i was a scardy cat in the sea.. gosh, kept holding onto the instructor's hand tightly when he tries to let go.. .. n then i dunno where did my bf go to... must be swimming with the fishes le. b4 going into the water, he said this is just like the times he was in Hawaii, the sun, sand n beach... he was thrilled he could find the similar experience in Bintan....
anyway, after a few tries, i grew comfortable with the breathing, and realised that the sound of my own breathin is so theraputic.. u cant hear a single thing down in the water.... its just your breathing... the water was very very very salty... after a a while, i couldnt take it le.. so went on board and threw bread into the water for the fishes instead. after nearly 30 mins, we were happily speeding back to the shore..
Surprise 6 :: We were been allocated a room for 4 of us to change and shower to get ready for lunch. we were very very very hungry and tired le. cos of the hot sun and we felt sleepy too. the room was much small than the suite that we were brought to earlier, however, nontheless, its was nice.. and the service was cool.. the lady kept asking if we need any extra towels.. or anything else we need... took some pictures of the rooms...:P
Surprise 7::: lunch! its buffet seafood lunch!!! wah wah.... they have grilled fish. chicken satay, salads and breads! wah... we still dun think 20 bucks is enough to cover for the whole buffet! hee.. feeling thirsty.. we ordered beer!! wah.... the cold beer put out the heat inside us.. eating and drinking beer under the shaded area and beside the sea, listening to the waves.. wah... we really dun feel like moving at all......... hee, saw terence! and realised that the other 4 pple we had in the group are his church's mates and his bro! hee.. no wonder i find him very very very familar.
End of all the surprises, at 2 pm(bintan time) we were ferried back to the terminal and get ready for the trip back home... We were all happy souls!! fully charged le! :D Now, m looking forward to the coming Bintan Trip with my girlfriends!!! hee... whoo woo.. its gonna be fun fun fun:D

i have typed alot jus now, nearly 3/4 of the page. almost done le!!!
i dunno what did i press, i was inserting the emoticons then it all disappeared!!!!argg!!!!
anyone know if i still can recover it?? oh no....
haix... k.. u folks got to wait for a while to see my updates le.
It was a pretty tiring week, all the buyings of my materials for the bazzar did damage to my eyes & pocket!! hee... i m weird, i m that kind that when given 50 dollars to shop, i would break in down into tens and buy five items or even more. defintely not that kind that would buy a item for 50! well, there are exceptions at times... :P The point is.. when it comes to earrings stuff...phoa..i will just buy n buy till it choke up to quite a big amount. Went shopping for stuffs at arab street and chinatown with my friend on fri. She was amazed at my buying capacity! she kept reminding me that all the stuffs that i bought are for bazzar sale... not for my own collection ar! ha haa... well, while shopping it just got carried away..any nice beads/.stones/findings.. buy.. buy... cant use now... oh nvm, think my girlfriends would like it for their birthdays... :P
bazzar is coming up! so excited! hee.. i kept telling myself, will try to sell as much as i can, at least to cover my costs! . then those remining ones.. are all mine to keep!! hee below are the pics to show the amount of stuff that i have... :D
